Wacai Headquarters: A Blend of Finance, Network, and Sustainable Design

Ng Yin Seng Jason's Innovative Design Approach for a Green and Sustainable Office Building

The inspiration behind the Wacai Headquarters stems from the company's two main components - finance and network. The design concept revolves around these elements, aiming to give the urban landscape and the company office building a distinct identity. The building is designed as a green and sustainable infrastructure, allowing natural light to minimize the use of artificial lighting and featuring extensive landscapes to offset carbon emissions. The north-south facing buildings are interwoven with skyrise gardens, creating a synergy between interpersonal relationships and finance through the network.

Ng Yin Seng Jason's design approach was bold and innovative. The image of ancient Chinese coins, symbolizing wealth and finance, was used as the basis of the vertical architectural design. The public's Internet was integrated as a platform for landscape design. The combination of these two elements resulted in a unique architectural masterpiece that reflects the company's identity and contributes to the urban landscape.

The building's unique properties extend beyond its aesthetic appeal. The cylindrical shape prevents strong winds from lifting the roof structure, and the interconnected points in the circular building provide a unique combination of flexibility and strength, making it safer in adverse weather conditions. Moreover, the circular buildings use fewer walls, floors, and roofs, achieving a smaller ecological footprint and more living space at a lower cost.

The Wacai Headquarters project, which ran from January 2018 to August 2018, faced several challenges. Balancing the client's expectations of a modern building structure with the company's identity and the vicinity's cultural and historical background was a significant hurdle. However, the design team managed to satisfy the client with the ancient coins concept, demonstrating their creativity and problem-solving skills.

The Wacai Headquarters has been recognized for its innovative design approach and sustainable features. It was awarded Silver in A' Architecture, Building and Structure Design Award in 2022, a prestigious accolade that rewards top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs. This award is a testament to Ng Yin Seng Jason's outstanding expertise and innovation in architectural design.
